EcoloJEWcal
What?
Here at Katan Adventures we wanted to put the Jew in environmental. But we couldn’t figure out how. So we put it into ecological instead! The result: EcoloJEWcal. What is it? More a mindset than anything else. While Jews have been heavily involved in efforts on behalf of the environment since the beginning of the environmental movement, most would be probably be surprised to know that one of God’s first commandments to Adam and Eve was to serve and protect the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, as the story goes, they didn’t do such a good job. But now we are working hard to redeem ourselves! There are a number of wonderful Jewish organizations out there doing great work on behalf on the environment and that have a real ecoloJEWcal state of mind. Some of our favorites are listed here. And of course, we at Katan Adventures are committed ecoloJews ourselves as evidenced by our dedication to sustainable travel and the free carbon offsets we offer to all our trip participants.
